      <image:title>About - My Health Journey</image:title>
      <image:caption>My health journey began when I was working in finance; stressed out, eating takeaway constantly, binge drinking to ‘take the edge off’, extreme exercising and hardly sleeping. I cultivated a slew of unhealthy habits, like a daily 3pm office kitchen visit, where I’d grab cookies, chips and my third coffee for the day. Loaded up with sugar and caffeine, I couldn’t work out why I had insomnia, why my energy levels were yo-yoing and why I couldn’t shift any weight. There was even one point when I had a bottle of caffeine pills on my bedside table to get me up in the morning. Like most in the corporate world, I did a pretty good job at keeping up appearances and making it appear as if everything was fine, but the reality was very different. My body and mind were struggling. I grappled with understanding why I couldn’t fit the pieces of my health puzzle together. You see, despite the unhealthy lifestyle, I’d always maintained an interest in health and wellness. But I’d later learn that when you’re in survival mode, it’s difficult to gain the clarity and breathing room needed to see the full picture. During this time, I had the intuition to begin practicing yoga once a week. What started for purely physical reasons – to compensate for over exercising – slowly began to give me a sense of grounding, and most importantly, mental and emotional space. I was converted. It became apparent that I needed to make some big changes in my life. I quit my job and embarked on a global adventure, which saw me travel to Japan, through South America and finally, India. India was transformative; I met my yoga teacher and I immersed myself in the practice and philosophy of yoga. I was introduced to the ancient health system Ayurveda, the sister science to yoga, and natural health quickly became a passion. This illuminating journey shaped the way I practice and live my life to this day. After six months in India, I returned to Sydney and promptly enrolled to study a Bachelor of Health Science (Nutritional Medicine). Through my studies, I learned about the body systems, how they interact, and how to naturally and holistically address the root cause of illness. I treated patients with diet and lifestyle changes and supplements, and continue to do so now in my clinic. Coming full circle, I love working with busy people and those in corporate offices to support them in finding the kind of balance I personally know can feel unattainable. Using my first-hand experience of this environment, I work to create routines for my busy and stressed clients that move them in practical, achievable ways towards a sustainably healthy life. But no matter your situation, I understand the need for true vitality and know we can find a way forward.</image:caption>
